Interview with KISS Kollector
by Joop van Pelt 2005
With 84 percent of your collection sold, I think it's save to say the auction was a big success. How do you feel about that?
LC: I am thrilled!!! Not only am I thrilled to see that 84 percent of the collection sold, but I am thrilled to see that it sold for almost 3 times what Jacques estimated and about one third more than I expected. (Jacques lowballed everything as to not disappoint me)
Did you expect the collection would sell for so much money?
LC: I knew what I wanted for some of the pieces, and I left most of the rest up to Jacques and the person bidding on the item.
What items were you most pleased with?
LC: There were a few items that really surprised me. For one, the 4 truck rental receipts from 1973 Coventry (Popcorn) gigs signed by Stanley Eisen, The 3 Christmas Cards from Paul Stanley and of course the 10 0r 11 scrapbooks.
8) Did you have discussions (or maybe even arguments) about what items to include in the auction, or did Lydia simply present a listing of what she wanted to offer for sale?
LC: Knowing myself, I am totally surprised that between Jacques, his incredible wife Kelli, my boyfriend Richie Fontana & myself we worked together to make this one of the smoothest transactions I have ever been involved with. Considering that I was in Italy for two weeks prior to the auction, everything went without even one argument.
